The poster was created in a less conventional way. Rather than depicting the film’s characters directly, it drew inspiration from a bedtime story the mother told her son. The story told of an old tradition in which the young would carry their elders into the mountains, leaving them there to pass away so as not to burden their families. But in an act of unconditional love, this mother scattered pine leaves along the path, ensuring her son could always find his way back home.

The story carried such powerful imagery and was a great metaphor of the sacrifices the mother made for her child, that I wove it into the design, blending it with elements like the ancient myth of the turtle carrying the world, to evoke a timeless, old-world atmosphere.
