PINK SCREEN was The Projector’s annual LGBTQ+ film festival and a flagship event of Pink Fest. The festival celebrated a rich spectrum of stories and genres, with a strong focus on amplifying underrepresented LGBTQ+ voices.
Its programming featured both acclaimed international titles and beloved local classics, including Bugis Street (1995), Some Women (2021), and Wong Kar Wai’s Happy Together (1997).

PINK SCREEN 2025
In 2025, the Key Visual drew inspiration from the term Lavender Woman, a phrase used in the 1950s and 60s to represent homosexuality. The association with lavender is thought to have originated from mxixing baby blue (a traditionally masculine colour) with pink (a traditionally feminine one).
Building on this history, we reimagined the lavender flower as the festival’s logo and paired it with an organic, flowing typeface to create visual identity which was fresh yet still paid homage to the roots LGBT+ history.
Festival Photos
In previous editions of Pink Screen, the visuals were centered on two key motifs: the eye, symbolizing cinema, and the rainbow, representing the LGBTQ+ community. Over the years, these elements evolved to reflect the festival’s shifting identity and size.
